- Set the context which will facilitate understanding of current
efforts at conserving historically-significant sites and buildings

- Helps students to conceptualise issues discussed in the lecture
- Debates about the issues will be facilitated at each site to enable
students to make the link between theory and reality
- Allow students to analyse divergent positions and perspectives of
